Islamic Association of Nova Scotia

The Islamic Association of Nova Scotia was officially established in 1967. Land was purchased in 1969, and in the fall of 1971, the first Eid prayers were held in the new mosque.

IANS is a community-oriented organization dedicated to providing for the religious and social needs of the Muslim (Islamic) communities throughout Nova Scotia. The Association provides educational resources for adults and children.

It also supports adult educational activities and weekly lectures/forums on Islam in Arabic and English. IANS also supports the Islamic school located at Chebucto Road, as well as a Sunday school at the centre.
